Effets médiateurs des habitudes de vie sur la susceptibilité génétique à l’obésité au sein de la cohorte CARTaGENE

Abstract: There are few studies using mediation analysis, particularly those investigating the mechanisms influencing genetic susceptibility to obesity. These mechanisms were explored with in the participants of the CARTaGENE cohort. Certain dietary and lifestyle habits have been identified as partial mediators, which may attenuate or increase the deleterious effect of an unfavorable genetic profile on the risk of overweight. However, a suppressor effect was present in one of our mediation models, suggesting that independent variables were not identified in our mediation model and may influence our results. It also illustrates that other mechanisms may influence genetic susceptibility to obesity need to be investigated in further studies.
