Comparison of different methods of inverse analysis to assess the tensile law of UHPFRC from four points bending tests

Abstract: Ultra-High Performance Fiber Reinforced Concrete, unlike conventional concrete, shows a remarkable tensile strength which is paramount for guaranteeing the crack resistance and durability. However, tensile tests on UHPFRC are not widely employed due to the difficulty to guarantee uniform tensile stress during the entire loading. To overcome this difficulty, the UHPFRC tensile law is more often estimated from Four Point Bending Test (4PBT) by inverse analysis under simplified hypotheses. The aim of this paper is to compare different inverse analysis methods on UHPFRC beams tested in a 4-point bending test. The tensile law identified. The preliminary comparison of some models available in open literature for UHPFRC with different fiber volume content (Vf=1% and Vf=2%) in terms of the the tensile law identified by inverse analysis is here discussed.
