Abstract: | This thesis follows a multidisciplinary approach using the branches of philosophy, sociology and media studies, with the intention of comprehending the singular aspects of the Web artwork Nanodramas : Identity Pills by the Brazilian artist Rodrigo de Toledo. In order to understand correctly the message transmitted by the artist, the presentation of identity as a consumable product accessible via a fake commercial website, it was necessary to delve into the analysis of the media itself, and draw upon its unique resources to improve the reflection of the work. Following this line of though, the analysis is able to combine, in a single investigation, a sociological reflection of the artwork to a philosophical and formal examination of the Web, so that it was possible to depict a complete picture of Nanodramas and the unique media attributes used by the artist. |
