Les impacts du Métrobus de Québec : la question du report modal

|Abstract:||This research concerns the Quebec City public transportation system, and especially the bus rapid transit (“Métrobus”) corridors. The Métrobus was established in 1992 and operates with priority bus/taxi lanes. For this study, we use OD surveys, G.I.S. and logistic regression in order to identify the modal shift impacts of Métrobus, and also to understand, in a better way, public transportation use in Quebec City. Models reveal some differences between “bus” and “car as driver”, from the (1) trip duration and (2) pole accessibility points of view. We also note (3) the relentless influence of owning a car on using it to travel, (4) the effect of increasing the density of activities on the propensity to use public transit, and (5) the heterogeneity of impacts among different population groups.|
