Les discours religieux dans l’espace public de la bioéthique

Authors: Jobin, Guy
Abstract: Many theologians intervene in secular discussions about bioethical matters. Some of them try to think through the requirements of such interventions whether in terms of topics discussed or in terms of epistemological requirements for doing so. I analyse and discuss the discourse of some theologians speaking in the bioethics realm, assuming that they present a model of linkage between religion and public reason. This analysis will follow three questions: can the space of bioethics discussions be qualified as public? is it possible to yield a model of public discussion that from these theological discourses? what are the justifications given by theologians to legitimate the presence of religious discourses in the secular public space of bioethics?
